winning entry for refugee week writing competition

As part of our celebrations for Refugee Week 2024, we ran a writing competition for young people across our organisation. It involved writing a piece about what 'home' means to them and could have taken any form, such as an essay, a poem, or a short story.

Well done to T who wrote the winning entry below!

What home means to me?

In my opinion, home is a very important thing for every person. Is where I can return after a tiring day. Is the place that gives me joy. Is the place that gives me more motivation to try harder every day. Is where I feel safe. Where I can do what I want. The place gives me a good night's sleep. Where there are people who always help me.
