sexual health week 2026: let's connect
Have you ever spent ages online talking to people, then realised you still feel a bit disconnected?
That feeling is at the heart of this year’s Sexual Health Week theme,“Let’s Connect”. Brook has chosen to focus on human connection at a time when many of us have hundreds of contacts, yet can still struggle to build the relationships that help us feel supported and understood
connection matters
When people talk about sexual health, they often focus on information and services. Those things are important, but relationships matter too.

This year’s campaign looks at how we build meaningful connections in friendships, romantic relationships and other important parts of our lives. It also asks us to think about how connected we feel to ourselves, including our emotions, needs and boundaries.
For young people, that can mean taking time to understand what makes you feel comfortable in a relationship, recognising when something doesn’t feel right, or finding people you can talk to openly.
life beyond the scroll
Social media can help us stay in touch and discover communities that share our interests. At the same time, online spaces can sometimes leave people feeling isolated or under pressure.
Brook says this year’s campaign will explore how to build authentic relationships in an era of ghosting and endless scrolling. It will also look at how stronger communication can support healthier relationships.
A meaningful conversation, a supportive friendship or feeling accepted in a community can have a positive impact on wellbeing. Small moments of connection can often be more valuable than another notification.
what helps you feel most connected?
Friends
Family
A club or community group
Online communities
feeling part of something
The campaign also highlights the role of community in tackling stigma, abuse and health inequalities. Feeling that you belong somewhere can make it easier to seek support and access reliable information when you need it.
Whether that community is a youth group, sports team, creative club, online space or group of friends, everyone deserves places where they feel welcome and respected.
a simple challenge
What is one thing you could do this week to feel more connected to someone or something that matters to you?
This Sexual Health Week, think about one connection in your life that you would like to strengthen.
That might mean sending a message to someone you haven't spoken to for a while. It could be joining a new group. You might simply spend some time reflecting on what helps you feel connected and supported.
Because connection isn't measured by followers or friend requests. It's about relationships that make you feel valued.
